The babies had their 1-year check up yesterday and had to get 4 shots each :o( it was pretty sad, poor little babies. Ethan ended up getting a mild fever from his vaccines and was pretty restless last night, he woke up 3 times in the night, so I'm tired today. Tenley took it like a champ and didn't end up with a fever, but she was a bit irritable, especially when daddy ripped her band-aids off after bath time...what a meany!
Here is Tenley, looking uncomfortable with being weighed
Tenley showed off her walking skills for the Dr. and Ethan showed off his ability to point up, look up, and say "Uhh" at the same time, the Dr. says that counts as saying "up" so Ethan can officially say "up". Yay buddy! ! ! They both also showed off their fake sneezing for the Dr. and the nurse...both of them enjoy a good "Bless you!" from mom and dad, so they fake sneeze to get the reaction. The Dr. and nurse thought it was pretty cute, which of course it is.
We were given advice on how to wean the babies off of breast milk, so I'll be done with pumping soon (yay, but also a little sad). We also got some advice on getting them to sleep through the night. Apparently it's going to involve 4 nights of not getting much sleep, and having to stay strong with really really sad crying babies. I can already sense myself not being able to do it, but Lars thinks we can. We're looking at the calendar and deciding when the best time will be to get no sleep for 4 nights. We think that the 3-day weekend around either Christmas or New Year's will be as good a time as we'll get in the near future. Wish us luck!!
Here are the babies stats:
Tenley:
Weight - 17lb 14oz (5.95 percentile)
Height - 28.15" (19.88 percentile)
She's still our tiny little girl. She is STILL wearing 6-9 month clothing!
Ethan:
Weight - 18lb 14.5oz (4.09 percentile)
Height - 30" (55.26 percentile)
So, his height is averaging out but he's still a skinny little boy.
