I promised to get caught up on blog posts...if you haven't checked in a while please be aware that I also recently posted the official Minnesota trip blog (so scroll down if you haven't seen it).
ANYWAYS, here is the Montana Thanksgiving trip. We decided to fly there because it was soooo much faster than driving or taking the train, and wasn't really even more expensive than the train. It was a great idea, a short and easy flight and the kids did fantastic (yay).
We went for a long walk in the woods, the day before Thanksgiving and the kids really enjoyed that. Playing with sticks, throwing rocks, looking for Uncle Casey hiding behind low brush. A lot of fun was had.
Lars and Ethan hiking through some tall grass near a river (forgive me for not knowing the name of the river...it's in Kalispell if that helps anyone).
Lars and Tenley walking around in what I thought was a rather icky marsh...no one else but me minded it but me. I really think this is a sweet picture of them <3
Ethan and Rachel playing with Ethan's "telescope"while Great Grandma Jean, Great Grandpa Jim, Oma Cheryl, and Lars work on the Thanksgiving feast.
The kids didn't eat much for Thanksgiving, which makes it pretty much like every other dinner we have. They're good at snacking, not so good at eating a meal.
We all went to a park to feed some ducks...a massive scary hoard of ducks...and geese...the kids are up on shoulders for their own safety!!
Getting ready for the hoard to descend upon us...prepping by climbing atop a picnic table where we'll be mostly safe from them.
See...and this is really only about 1/3 of the flock/gaggle. They were relatively tame, but still some of those geese are massive and could really hurt you! Glad the picnic table was handy.
Sorry it's sideways, but I thought this was a good shot of Lars tossing Ethan in the air at the park (after we ran out of our 2 loaves of bread for the hoard of billed/winged assassins).
We had a great time in Montana with everyone. Thanks so much for having us, can't wait to do it again!
